In perhaps the most poignant, ironic and telling statement to come out of Russia in decades, none other than Vladimar Putin recently took it upon himself to discourage the United States of America from traveling further down the road of socialism.
Putin's warning is telling not so much in the sense that it reveals the place to where Russia has arrived, but because it is a sober slap in the face to Barack Obama and his leftist, liberal loony Democrats who have built and paved The Socialist Expressway and are screaming down its fast lane.
I mean, think about this one...the leader of Russia warning the President of the United States about the dangers of socialism. Ronald Reagan is certainly rolling over in his grave, and those of us who actually have a brain that is not squishy, liberal mush are just as livid about the state of things as Reagan would be.
I mean it just doesn't get any more surreal: the United States getting lectured about the importance of avoiding socialism by Russia!
And yet it will fall upon the indefinitely-dead ears of Obama, the mainstream media and the whole of the Democratic lost culture.
Can it get any more pathetic? Can the Dems understand anything at all that is not written in crayons?
If the Democrats cannot hear this wake up call, then perhaps there is no hope in reconciling the Liberal machine with the United States of America and her stable, freedom-loving people. Perhaps they will never hear. And perhaps it is time to begin changing some things so that they are not allowed in the driver's seat. Perhaps it is time to arise...
TheRightPerspective has an article on Putin's recent warnings here.

PackSmack,
"And perhaps it is time to begin changing some things so that they are not allowed in the driver's seat."
Perhaps it is time for you to put down the bomg. Whatever you are on, it has clearly eaten through your ability to see clearly.
Packerwatch, love your question.
"what's socialism again?" Wait wait don't tell me, it is a sign of a caring community working together to improve the lives of ALL.
We can't have this. Hate is what is needed. Fear is the tool....

ema, i'm no socialist. although i do believe socialism is overly demonized, it is simply not a feasible economic system, in my opinion.
and a distinction needs to be made, socialism is an economic system, not a government. technically, it is very possible to have a socialist democracy (a democratically elected government that has an economic system based on worker ownership.)
capitalism is simply the most efficient means of distributing resources. that's not to say it shouldn't be regulated, which is the main difference center-left individuals like myself have with center-right individuals. btw, packsmack and ben are not center-right. they are fringe right, with their conspiracy theories and honest belief in the evil of their intellectual opponents.

Packerwatch,
I am a socialist. I agree with your point, "it is very possible to have a socialist democracy (a democratically elected government that has an economic system based on worker ownership.)"
Socialism works well for Congress, the military, and corporations in USA. It is time to allow all to enjoy the benefits of society, not just the rich and well connected.
I agree completely with you that Packsmack and Ali Ben Ali Mohammad Abdul are not center-right. They are very far fringe right, with their conspiracy theories and honest belief in the evil of their intellectual opponents.
It is fun to watch them run around in their soiled diapers though.
