To learn more about the economic and strategic risks associated with an LCFS, visit www.secureourfuels.org. You can find detailed fact sheets here: http://secureourfuels.org/research. If you want gasoline to be plentiful and reasonably priced, use this link to send a message to your Representative & Senators. Send a message to Congress: demand that they vote against the Low Carbon Fuel Standard scam.

If you don't care about escalating fuel prices, if you don't care about fuel scarcity, if you don't care about the negative economic and security impact of decreased domestic oil production and increased dependence on Arab oil imports then ignore this post and do nothing.

The Low-Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) is a scam designed to make the cost of motor fuel spiral, in the vain hope of making alternative fuels more attractive. Of course, there are no real alternatives available in industrial quantities, and there won't be in the near future. It boils down to another redistribution of wealth scheme.

The Threat Is Real. President Obama, as Illinois’ junior member of the Senate, introduced LCFS legislation last Congress,i and has strongly supported action in California to ban certain North American fuels.ii Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA),iii a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR),iv of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources panel, have both offered LCFS legislation this Congress. And Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN), the third-ranking Republican in the Senate, continues to advocate for an LCFS.v The likelihood of a one-size-fits-all low-carbon fuel mandate becoming law – perhaps as a part of broader cap-and-trade legislation – is real.
